The Russian Far East: retrospective and perspective of socio-economic development

In article economic preconditions of development of the Russian Far East and their realization during the socialist and postprivatization period are investigated. The analysis of the strategic errors admitted during market transformations and their consequences is made. Positive and negative aspects of realization of program actions of the Russian government and the basic conditions of restoration of demographic and industrial potential of region are defined.
